Temporary Permits

Need more time to make repairs?

A vehicle that receives a fail or reject test result may be eligible for a 30-Day Temporary Permit, which can be purchased at Clean Air Car Check at the time of your emissions test. The registered owner of the vehicle must be present to purchase the temporary permit.

Keep in mind, Indiana BMV only allows two 30-Day Temporary Permits in a 12 month period, and the vehicle must fail an emissions test between the issuance of the two permits.
